Course Setup Principles
To make DTU Learn easier to use for both teachers and students, a set of guiding principles has been outlined.
The first two address general rules and regulations, while the remaining nine focus on best practices for course setup in DTU Learn.
General Reminders
- Ensure that all course materials comply with applicable legislation, such as copyright and GDPR
- Always follow DTU Study Rules, such as activating your course at least one week before the course starts.

- Use the Announcements tool for important updates
- Collect general course information in one easily accessible place
- Give all course materials and activities descriptive and systematic titles
- Fill in the relevant description fields with clear instructions for all course materials and activities
- Link, embed or create all course materials and activities in Content
- Upload all your videos to Panopto - Guide
- When using self-enrolment groups in the course, remember to set an enrolment Expiry Date that is prior to the assignment Due Date.
- Consider enabling the anonymity setting, when using the Discussions or Polling tools.
- Provide feedback for the students directly within each activity tool.
Only use the Grades tool after completing the self-study course.
